Safe piercing process

Before we start, we will advise you on the different possibilities for piercing positions and jewlery options. Once the piercing has healed, there is a wide variety of types and materials you can choose from. However, not all of them are appropiate for the healing process. We will help you choose the best option for piercing you want to get.

Set up

At Another Tattoo, piercing procedures are set up to ensure cleanliness and safety. Materials used for piercing such as alcohol, saline solution, gloves, and manipulating tools are all specialized products meeting medical standards. These tools are sterilized according to sanitation standards before each use.

Before the piercing, we will clean the piece of jewelry and the area to be pierced with alcohol. The piercing hole will then be marked with a pen so you can confirm it is in the desired position.

Then, we will open the single-use sterilized needle. This hollow needle is pushed through the skin to create the hole. This action if fast enough to be done before you can percieve the pain. The piece of jewelry is then insterted in the needle, which is removed inserting the piece of jewelry. Once the piercing has been fixed and the area cleaned, the piercing process is over.

Aftercare instructions

Finally, you will be explained how to take care of your piercing. Each placement has different requierements, as the pierced tissues are not always the same.

Monitoring the healing process

While your piercing is still healing, we recommend you to carefully monitor this process. If you have any questions, you can immediately contact us for further advice. Once the piercing is completely healed you can change the jewelry.

Piercing FAQ

Does it hurt to get pierced?

This is the most frequently asked question, also the hindrance of most of you. Piercing might sound painful, but in fact, its process is very gentle because the experienced artist will perform the act by hands instead of the piercing gun as the form of pressing, so the force on the ear will be softer and less painful. The piercing process is also very quick, our artists are psychological and professional, many of you may don't even recognise when it's done while you are still getting yourself ready. As long as you prepare for a healthy and strong mind, everything will be perfectly fine.

How long for new piercing to get healed?

After getting pierced, it takes time for it to heal and be healthy again. Depending on the pierced body parts and on different individuals, the healing time ranges from 1 to 3 months. The most important thing, more than daily diet after getting pierced, is to protect and take care of your piercing. It's a must to clean your new piercing regularly with normal saline, avoid strong impact on the piercing; when sleeping, and avoid lying on your side on the piercing.
